About Us
Hi, my name is Dennis, and together with my wife, Ruth, we have many years of experience supporting people with disabilities, as well as our own lived experience with our children. We decided to start our own business, focusing on helping participants, families, and caregivers work together to ensure all participants reach their goals in life with dignity, care, and respect.
Social Participation and Community Access
- Attending Social and Recreational activities - including going to the movies, attending concerts, visiting community events, joining social groups, and participating in sports
- Support worker assistance - including accompanying a participant to activities, assisting with transportation, communication, and general support needs
- Developing Social Skills - Bricare Support Services can help participants build confidence and learn new social skills within these settings.
- Personal Development - Bricare Support Service can assist in finding workshops and group activities to assist in developing life skills and make friendships with like-minded individuals
Self-Care Activities
- Personal hygiene - Assistance with showering, bathing, grooming, oral hygiene and toileting
- Medication Management - Reminders, assistance with administration, and tracking medication schedules
- Meal preparation and eating - Help with preparing meals and ensuring proper nutrition
- Health and Wellbeing - Encouragement and support for activities like gentle exercise, healthy eating and following therapist recommendations
STA - Respite
- Accommodation - Bricare Support Services can give you choices for your desired time away from caregivers, e.g., a weekend away (Bricare Support Services covers this cost)
- Support Staff - Bricare Support Services can provide trained staff for the whole time away from your home. Support workers will assist in transport, personal care, meal prep, and all activities during your time away.
- Activities/Food - Bricare Support Services will provide the cost and facilitation of all activities and food-related items during the respite period
Skill Development And Training
- Prepare and cook Meals - Bricare Support Services can assist participants in managing their daily nutrition needs. This service includes help with grocery shopping, meal planning, and preparing nutritious meals that meet dietary requirements.
- Domestic Tasks - Bricare Support Services can assist participants in all tasks in the home, including laundry, household cleaning, using appliances safely, and making the bed
- Taking Public Transport - Bricare Support Services can assist participants in putting money on their go card, how to navigate and choose the correct public transport routes, and how to safely enter and exit all modes of public transport.
